I started CrossFit at 309lbs and at my lowest I weighed 208lbs. It took me about a year and a half to lose the weight. I went from a 42in waist to a 36in waist and a 2xl shirt to a large.
I started CrossFit truthfully because of Jess Caldas, who was my full time paramedic partner when I started and she was constantly talking about it. I had a lot of doubts going in and she helped me through them and told me to try it out. I remember my first class and how terrible I felt but I decided to keep trying. The more I went the more I wanted to be at CrossFit. I started feeling stronger and started to see the results.
I have a very physically-intensive job and I remember being exhausted just climbing stairs at work let alone carrying people up stairs. Now I feel great at work, I’m far strong then at any point in my life and am never physically tired after climbing stairs or walking long distances.
Losing 100 lbs absolutely changed my life, I have more energy and confidence in myself. I feel like I have better interactions with people because of the increased confidence.
